As a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I have fought a good many opponents for a good many years. As a White Belt STEEMian, I often forget there are dozens of new folks following my blog that might not know this. so now you know.
New folks wouldn't know that one of our core members and instructors at the academy has been fighting amateur MMA for the past couple years and doing well. Here is a video of one of his fights if you are so inclined....
Kris Allard is turning professional with his next fight.

Here is my guy signing the paperwork with the commission and fight promotion company to fight his first professional fight. The process was much tougher with a battery of scans and tests and doctor's exams to certify him fight ready. With all that behind him, the card has been set.
Here is the promotional poster making the rounds for the event.
Here is the special poster we made to promote Kris's fight. It won't have the hype for other folks as it is his pro debut but we are definitely going to take the crew from our home club, and drive 3 hours to the town where the event is. Gotta have fun with it.
Now it is down to the weight cutting and training camp. As hard as we train him, he has the hardest part making weight and preparing mentally.
Some Stiking sparring.
Definitely a lot of BJJ/Grappling sparring.

We are even taking him down the road to an allied Muay Thai and Boxing gym to get in some higher intensity striking training.
Looks like my training is going to intensify by proxy as we harden him for the fight.
Train Hard, Fight Easy - Fight is November 24th in Peterborough. Any MMA STEEMians in the area?
