Check out Travel Adventure day trip to the Sunny Coast of Australia! Coolum Beach & Açaí Bowls
Coolum Beach
The stunning Coolum Beach is located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Hubby took me on day trip to Coolum as I’ve never visited before, even though we only live about 2 hours away from this beautiful and relaxing beach town.
Sweeping views of the Coolum Beach coastline
Plenty to do on the Sunny Coast!
Next time I make a day trip out here it will be to climb the nearby Mt Coolum that rises 208m above sea level to give beautiful 360 views of the entire coastline. I haven’t made this trek before but I’ve heard it is relatively easy and totally worth it for the amazing views seen from the peak.
There are so many activities to keep you busy, such as surfing schools, nature walks, mountain climbs, relaxing and sunbaking to get your daily dose of Vitamin D.

Or do nothing at all!
The coastal town of Coolum is very laid back and relaxing, so it’s also the perfect getaway if you need to relax. The beach seems endless and is the perfect place to simply relax and soak up the sunshine.
I found this relaxing spot under the shade of the trees just above the entrance to Coolum Beach. It offered beautiful views of the coast with refuge from that harsh Australian sun. It’s almost mid-Autumn and the temperature still reaches close to 30 degrees celcius.

Lunch time!
There’s a variety of restaurants along the main road just across from Coolum Beach. We ate at an Açaí and dragonfruit bowl at the local health food cafe, Raw Energy.
My lunch!
- Açaí Bowl: Açaí blend with toasted muesli, strawberry, banana, passion fruit, kiwi fruit and coconut.
- Mint Magic juice: apple, pineapple, ginger and mint
Ben’s lunch!
- Dragonfruit Bowl with Super Bowl Booster: Dragonfruit blend, toasted muesli, strawberry, banana, passion fruit, kiwi fruit and coconut. The added booster was a mix of goji berries, chia seeds, LSA, pepitas and sunflower seeds.
- Green With Envy juice: apple, pear, kale, cucumber, celery, parsley and spinach
Coolum is very relaxing and laidback, with cute seaside decorations along the main strip. It’s definitely worth a trip if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I’ll definitely be back to climb Mt Coolum and maybe even try my hand at surfing.
