He was born in 1962 in a Swedish village Agunnaryd, his parents used to work in a farm house Elmtaryd.
His parents put him to work at the age of five, but he instead of being a labor, decided to do business.
He was given name at the age of three, Ingvar Kamprad.
At the age of eleven he started selling matches.

He used to get boxes of matches and sell them on his bicycle from street to street, he worked for six months selling matches, then on e day he realized if he buy matches from the city in bulk and then sell to village shopkeepers it would make him some more profit. The other day he went to Stockholm and bought matches in bulk and then he sold the matches with some profit in his pocket.
Next year he expanded his business to selling fish, Christmas Tree decorations, Christmas Cards, seeds, ball points and pencils.
When he grew older to 17 years, his father give him some money, and he built a company with this little money which changed the life style of the world.With this money Ingvar started making furniture with less weight and colorful shape. People thought that this idea would fail because at that time people used to like heavy furniture. They used to make furniture and would go with them to their third generations, so at that time furniture product was not that popular.
Their was no store and showrooms for furniture, people used to make their furniture on demand by carpenters. But Ingvar decided to give his furniture business a structure, because he thought that in the coming days people will start relocating and will leave their hometowns in search of jobs and this will give a chance for his furniture business to groom.
Ingvar thought that in near future a lot of people will start moving towards large cities making it more populated which will cause the flats and buildings to be congested and small, so they would need small and light furniture for that, and also he thought that future will get colorful in the coming days.
So therefore, he decided and built a first furniture making company with the name of IKEA in Europe in 1943.
This company has really changed the life style of the people, it has changed the mind set of the people of the world. It has become Europe's biggest company in just twenty years.
This success was all because of his vision, hard work and honesty, he recognized the changes in the society at that time, he knew that in coming future people will like small and light things.
Then he transformed his business into making household products in 1980.
Now his business is spread from Europe to America, Dubai to New Zealand, which has sales around 900 million dollar per day.
This is the life story of a successful man who was a labor in a farmhouse, but his vision, hard work and honesty made him to be the fourth richest man in the world in the year of 2007.
