Being Pretty And Sexy Is Not Enough To Make An Impact On This World (The Coming Out Of My Activist Creative Heart)

Yesterday, as I was modelling for @suzanalberts and as we were shooting on an empty floor of an industrial building, surrounded by building materials and rubble, I had a revelation.

Thanks to the wonderful Suzan of course.

She said something that really made an impact on me.

‘If you want to be remembered in 100 years time, you need to show the world as it is right now’

BAM!

FUCK YES!

Look I am going to be honest here.

I can be sexy. I can look good.

And I know that when I put out photos of myself online that are deemed sexy and beautiful, I get lovely reactions.

But is this making an impact? Is this bringing a message?

Not really.

So to me, it’s not interesting. (anymore).

I used to find this digital attention very alluring and would be busy with it.

But now I give less fucks about the online likes and comments.

Sexy photos are not going to make the world a better fucking place.

Pieces that show the rawness, express the intrinsic relationships that we have developed here on a myriad of different levels and depictions of the ugly chaos that signifies where we are at right now.

THAT IS FUCKING INTERESTING.
THAT WILL GET PEOPLE THINKING.
THAT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT.

So this is my coming out of sorts.

I am here to create.
I am here to write.
I am here to make pieces that fucking say something.

I always knew that my activist artist heart would come out and be exposed one day!

Well here it is.

Here’s to a new era in my own life where I no longer keep my mouth shut.
Here’s to creating pieces that’ll get you thinking.
Here’s to depicting reality as it is right now.
Here’s to @suzanalberts for being the catalyst to this change to come through.

BIG love,

Ashley
