Not surprisingly, WRT "government" there is an ongoing property assessment scandal in that province, like in many places for the government cash grabs stealing everything from the people.
Typical, really in the ineptness, collusion or over reach daily by those ruling above us without consent.
As many people know, I have been in the real estate sector since 1991 and an activist challenging police statism and government since 2009, so this is in my wheelhouse for both spaces. Not many know I was appointed by city council to sit on the Committee of Adjustment due to my experience.
- They found out sooner than later I was here for the PEOPLE -- not the government or the bureaucrats.
Most communities have such a committee to make decisions on things relating to variances for property and real estate, planning/building applications etc.

The family said they were expecting some form of increase, they are reasonable people but when their friends, neighbours and co-workers were all discussing their DECREASES locally, the family was in horror when their assessment showed up with a 25% increase -- nearly $700 more that year and for the increased assessed amount of nearly $51k.
Shameful! But typical of government. We know this.
The family home is just 1 of the 2,048 homes that had their assessments manipulated by Service New Brunswick to grab big tax increases squeezing wealth out of the people in the usual fashion, according to reports.
Even though the driveway cost $8,500, Service New Brunswick didn't bother to verify those details of course, but instead rigged $30,410 in renovation costs on the McIntyre's along with a further $20,490 in market value increases to justify the $50,900 assessment cash grab.
There's widespread corruption and theft at every level of government without consent as we know but this province on the friendly east coast of Canada, which the informed are starting to call Canadastan due to the police state it is becoming- is rife with the now exposed property assessment scandals.
Many stories have emerged with people calling for the resignation of government officials, and there has been talk and reports of FRAUD charges being filed against them as well.

President's Choice Children's Charity funded the request quickly, after Ryder's physiotherapist encouraged the couple to apply. It was making the youngster's life difficult to do anything or get around, on the best of days, and it turned into a soupy mess on rainy days, which happens a lot on the east coast as many people know.
The family has challenged the increase and received a notice that the case will be reviewed. The couple were also told they must pay the higher tax bill until informed otherwise.
