The dragonfly teaches us of control and balance on many different levels.
To start off with the dragonfly starts its life cycle as a fierce underwater predator then progresses to become a graceful areal acrobat. This teaches us firstly that we too can explore our own diversity, then find the balance of adaptability from one extreme to the next.
Another way that the dragonfly teaches us of finding our own balance is when we look at the adult dragonfly and the eloquent way that it is able to perch itself on thin reeds and grass. This also brings to my attention the trust that the dragonfly holds in its own ability to fly, he is not scared of the thin reed breaking, because he knows that his wings will carry him if it does.
One more lesson that the dragonfly blesses us with is definitely awareness, when you look at the dragonfly you can not help but notice its extremely huge eyes that enables the dragonfly to see in almost any given direction, its only blind-spot is directly behind him, and this is countered by its constant movement. Focus on being more aware of all that surrounds you as well of all that is within you, awareness is the foundation to knowledge.
