It’s Thursday night. I realize I forgot to send myself a salary from my business account.
I need money for the weekend and I like to have all these transactions on ‘paper’ for tax purposes.
My private and business account are with different banks.
I transfer the money using the business bank app on my phone to my private bank.
I don’t expect the money to be there straight away because unlike anything else in life transferring money needs to take atleast half a day.
I do expect the money to be there the next day but Friday happens to be Good Friday. And on Good Friday the banks are closed!
It appears changing some digits around in computer systems is not possible when the banks are closed.
The banks were also closed on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (bank holiday).
On Tuesday, I finally get my money.
5 days I had to wait to get MY OWN money. I also pay to have all these bank accounts. What world is this?!
Why is this still accepted in a world so advanced?
Bitcoin can take a relatively long time to nowadays but when I just started using it in 2013 the 10-minute transfer felt like a dream. It was spot-on every time.
Now that I have been using STEEM I know a transfer can also be done in 3 seconds.
3 SECONDS! To send money from A to B.
24 hours a day and with not a penny transfer fee.
Just this alone can make me so excited about this technology.
