"Thank you mom. I love you. You have always been a beacon of inner strength and a messenger for the joys of living. You have always shown us a greater support than money could ever buy. You did not fear when I walked the streets in many cities, when I turned my back on financial responsibilities and instead poured my heart into the arts and the story of humanity. You did not fear when I told you where I was sleeping or the dangers I escaped. You have remained calm and I am thankful you are here now to witness this new chapter in my life where the harmony of giving and receiving grows. Your example of patience and wisdom have always been there for us. I am thankful my brothers and sisters have received that example greater than I. Fine examples of human beings. The American Hero brother, the successful pop culture journalist brother, the sister who runs a small business in a male dominated industry, the sister who guides college students on their journey to fulfillment, and the musical & technical prodigy who continues his studies. Your grandchildren are blessed to have such a devoted gramma who embraces them with time and attention. Your mother and father in heaven are rewarded by your path because you loved them each day and were there on their passing to the next life. Your sisters and brothers, my aunts and uncles, have a wonderful sibling who celebrates all their success and discoveries. And your husbands family has such a welcome and generous friend and new member to their families. Our neighbors have a friend. The church and community has a devoted volunteer. The world is simply a better place because of you.

Time is not enough to share every example of your love. But thank you for our recent brunch together. Just you and me in a charming little cafe. Thank you for spending time with me, to listen to me talk about improv, Reckoning, my new job, and this funny little world called @steemit. I am thankful to have met and continue to meet interesting and intelligent people here and thank you for listening. Just as you listened when I spent 15 years in Chicago, you always listened even though you did not understand why I poured years into an art that did not reward me with enough to live on. You seemed happier to hear that I am allowing myself to receive, instead of just give all the time. You told me more about the rest of family with whom you are always in touch. I am happy to hear everyone continues to grow as humans and that their careers continue to flourish. Thank you for sharing stories of where you grew up in St Louis, where you would go, and with whom you would pal around. I love how you always smile and start to laugh when you share even simple happy memories. You came from a simple world and have always kept things simple and perhaps that is the key to your happiness and good health. We finished our meal and the bills showed up in tiny books one would find in an old book store. The diner was sunny and the weather was brisk, we took a little photo together.

I love you Mom. I am working hard. Not everyone can see it, they do not need to, but you know it. You know money is not the most important thing to me but you know that I am trying. You know that every penny, every satoshi, will eventually come back to my family. You know I sacrifice my time for others more than for myself. You know I am getting better at receiving help from others instead of trying to do it on my own. You know that the fame my Reckoning friends is not what I seek. You know the riches that my steemit friends have is not what I seek. You know I am happy for them all. You know I am rooting them for all. You know my secret and the journey that only I can carve for myself and how I will share that journey with all the good souls I encounter along the way. Thank you mom. Your mother and father are smiling down from heaven on you always, they did good to share such a blessing with the world. My sister is a great mom and my other sister who is expecting will be a loving mother too because of you. I am going to and say hello to Gramma Jo now. I am going to give her a big hug and pat her back and listen to her tell me about the rest of father's family, the weather, her garden, and the birds that visit her porch. I will listen and be thankful. Thank you for listening. Thank you. I love you. Happy Mothers Day."
