Starting a business is hard! Here are some awesome tips to make things easier for you!

Throw Less at problems

Something I learned with Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares shows. That many failed restaurants tried to solve their problem by adding more and more to the menu. Some places had over 100 choices.
While that may be somewhat appealing to a picky eater. How can you successfully create a good dish when there are over 100 of them?

One of his biggest changes to these restaurants usually involved cutting down the menu a bunch.
You can apply this to all businesses

  • Trim down!
  • Polish what you already have to make a higher quality product.

in other words, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.
When things aren't working, it's almost instinct to start throwing more at the problem! This can have bad effects.

Focus On What Won't Change

Many companies focus on the next big thing. Now I'm not saying that if a trend starts up, And you have the time and resources to put some products out there for that trend, That you shouldn't do that. I do that often. It's a great way to earn some quick money.
But if you have a really small company filled, Focusing on a trend can cause serious problems.

If that trend dies down, so does your whole business. So make sure you are focusing on an Evergreen niche, and then maybe dip into trends now and then.

With Adult coloring, We didn't know if it was just a "trend" or a new market. So I built a business around it, And then I started building a POD Merch company. As people are less excited about Adult coloring, My sales are slowly dropping, and I'm okay because I have my new company. But if it ends up being a permanent market, Which I feel it is. It's another one of those "craft" hobbies; Then I'll still have my foot in the door with my Coloring books, I'm also about to start releasing coloring posters!
So I'm able to spread my art over a bigger area and make good passive income as a result.

Conclusion

By simplifying your business and becoming really good at things, And focusing on evergreen niches. You will do well with your businesses! Don't overthink it!
