So, I find myself in a situation, I'm really not making enough to cover rent, and even just simple things like food and sundries I am having difficulty with. I have today been having an extra problem with a transfer through shapeshift that has seen me today with all available monetary assets sitting in limbo waiting for the helpdesk to open and resolve the issue for me.
I was given a ticket to SteemFEST and since I am so busy here working and writing, I really must go. So I have to travel to Amsterdam, and luck would have it that I have already survived 15 months in the city, with scarce resources, and I know the support systems there inside and out, and have good relationships with many of the good folk who work and volunteer in these places.
In the chart above, you can see what to most people familiar with the principles of technical price chart analysis would agree looks a lot like a 'Double Bottom', the W-shaped bounce with more or less parallel points, and the moving average (blue) is also now tilting upwards.
Of course, it might be too soon to call a reversal, but it is definitely possible to say that one might be coming.
Well, I say, it has to come eventually, for the simple reason that the benefits of following trends in markets is the main way most traders profit. Thus, if a small group start to buy up, and the buying continues for long enough, other people start to do it, because they are seeing a trend change, and, obviously, the reverse occurs the other way around.
This tendency towards following behaviour creates something that is called in market price analysis circles 'Momentum'. It is similar to herd movements. The whole group tends to have to move together and for safety (and sometimes warmth), must stay together, and when the herd starts to spread out in one direction, the rest tend to follow to keep the group solid.
Thus, there can be a mass that builds up, if suddenly there is a pride of lions behind the herd, they will stampede and any individual that does not follow the direction is either going to get run over, or eaten by the predators.
The situation is much the same in a market. Getting eaten by the lions or trampled has the cognate of making a big loss on your position. If you are leveraged, it gets even worse, and you can have your whole balance wiped out by this. It is very unpleasant being 'killed' in a marketplace, indeed. I was killed pretty badly during the time around and following the Bitfinex robbery.
So, the timing is quite good...
I'm about to go to Amsterdam, where I have a ton of potential subjects for stories, and a rudimentary way to make a life, the price is heading back up, which means rewards will increase in value, and then SteemFEST in a month's time. Not only that, if nothing big comes up right away, after the middle of December, I will be able to register for homeless unemployment benefits, which I will be able to save up so that I can come back to Bulgaria for the next spring, and finally get myself set up... IF nothing better turns up.
It seems and some have said to me that it's kinda dumb to plan for poverty, but I am not really, I simply have a great amount of opportunity all lining up if I am in Amsterdam. A convergence of many things. I also should say that you could look at it this way:
Rent is a big cost.
If your income is low, and you are trying to build a surplus, it's the low-hanging fruit you can pluck off the easiest, even though for most such an idea is terrifying. When you fall into this situation one time, the fear is gone. Now I can use it to my advantage.
Note
All rewards henceforth until I have secured necessary supplies to travel to Amsterdam are going as much as possible into getting me a thermal shirt, beanie, scarf and a sleeping bag. Any help will be much appreciated.
