A man went to God and asked him:
- How much is my life worth?
God gave him a stone and said,
- Find out the value of this stone, but try not to sell it!
The man took the stone and left. On his way he met a man who sold oranges, so he asked him how much he thought his stone was worth. The seller saw the brilliant stone, looked at it and said,
- You give me the stone and I'll give you 12 oranges.
The man apologized and said that God had asked her not to sell it, so she went on. After a while he met a vegetable seller:
- How much do you think this stone is worth? - asked the man.
The vendor picked up the stone, looked at her, and said,
- I'll give you a bag of potatoes in exchange.
The man again apologized and told him he could not sell it, then he went back to the road. After a while he came to a jewelry store. He went in and asked the jeweler what his stone was worth. The jeweler took the stone, carefully analyzed it, and said,
- I'll give you $ 50,000 for this stone.
When the man nodded, the jeweler said,
- Okay, well ... I'm offering you 500,000, just give me the stone.
The man explained that he could not sell the stone and went back to the road again. In a little while he gave a store with precious stones. She went to the seller and asked him what the value of his stone was. The vendor picked up the stone, put it on a velvet material, and looked at it carefully.
- Where do you have this priceless stone? - he asked. Even if I sell the whole world and my whole life, I would not have the money to buy this wonderful thing. - added.
Amazed and confused, the man returned to God and told him what had happened.
- Now, Lord, tell me ... how much is my life worth?
God said,
- The answers you received from the orange seller, the vegetable seller, the jeweler and the seller of precious stones explain the value of our lives. You could be a precious gemstone, but people will appreciate you according to their level of information, the confidence they have in you, their motivation, the ambition and the risk that they assume in your relationship with you . But do not be afraid, you will surely find someone who realizes your true value.
