John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends"

Happy Veterans Day! ~ Honoring Our Veterans on Veteran Day.

Honoring Our Veterans on Veteran Day, a day to say thank you to all who have fought for the freedom of this great country. It is a day to give back, to those who gave so much. It is a day to remember that freedom is not free. To all our veterans, we say thank you for your gift to our country. To those who paid the ultimate price, we say thank you for giving so much the price was too much. You are the true heroes of this country.

To your families we also say thank you. Thank you to the mothers and fathers who raised their sons and daughters to serve. To each grieving parent we say thank you!

Veteran s Day originated on November 11, 1919 as Armistice Day. Originally, it was to commemorate the end of World War I. Armistice Day became a yearly observance in 1926. Veteran s Day became a national holiday in 1938. It was still called Armistice Day at this point. The name of the holiday was changed from Armistice Day to Veteran s Day on June 1, 1954.
