Today we look at Google co-founder Sergey Brin. He has a particularly difficult name if you don't use a memory technique. But you will see below that he is actually pretty easy to remember. Let's go:
The Person
Like always we need an anchor for our story. For names this should be the person itself. To help your visualization here is a picture of Sergey:
Sergey
The first name is actually one of the funniest coincidences I have ever encountered in memory techniques: it sounds like the word SEARCH which is ironic because he founded the biggest search engine in the world. So our image is this:
Brin
His family name sounds like the word BRIM. So we can imagine the brim of a hat for example.
The Memory Story
Now we bring everything together and make it memorable. Sergey searches his hat using Google Glass. He finally finds it by stumbling over the brim of his hat and his glasses are flying through the air and crash on the floor. Visualize and reapeat that a few times and you never forget his name again.
