I was never one for vapid virtual badges which improve interaction, perseverance and page views.
Coming from pre-www, of course, I do blame Dennis Crowley for this ongoing badge hunting, complete with revival on Steem.
One of the first things I did on Steemit was to reply STOP
to a @steemitboard comment. It asked me so nicely to reply so I did. :D
Yet, it seems that come age comes a more mellow attitude and there’s a badge which has been tempting me, teasing me, calling my name out loud.
Truth is, I have been keeping an eye on it for a while now. For at least four days, maybe even five. Steemworld alerted me to the fact that I was closing in on 100 posts.
But that isn’t the badge I care about or why I’m writing this entry. Despite it being a mere futile achievement... I want that monthly author badge. I want it but without forcing myself, and without writing any $hitposts.
Which may mean that if I were to achieve it this month, it may not be valid an achievement as this post may surely be classified a $hitpost by some.
But as they say so eloquently in proper English: ”Suck it up, buttercup”.
Yes, writing long posts every day is a challenge. At least it is if you aren’t an author who serializes already previously published content on Steem. If you aren’t a personal journaler. If you already write tens and tens of comments every day.
Enough of excuses though: Monthly Author badge, you are mine this month.
But no, I will not deactivate those automated comments, sorry @arcange. Love your work, gave you my witness vote but am not a comment billboard. ;)
