I am writing this post on Saturday, in Portugal, to be sent to @riverflows later today - or on Sunday - in Australia. This way she can edit and post it on Mindful Monday. Oh the wonder of time differences and time zones!

Talking about time...

This morning, I watched a vlog by Deepak Chopra, from his channel The Chopra Well and I found its message worth sharing, so allow me to cite it here:

“The entire theatre of space, time, energy, matter and causality is a human construct.

Our senses do not deliver the world to us, they deliver sensations and perceptions that we interpret as body, mind and world. Once we know that the world, including our so called 'body' is a projection, we're free of it and can project worlds and a bodies as we fancy.

As pure consciousness, we're already doing it. We're all bodies and all projected worlds, from microbes to reptiles to mammals to primates to humans. They exist only in being or awareness.

Knowing this,we can be free of our projections and project any world we want.”

I am loving these kind of messages, that make me look at my world and life in a different way. It's the kind of knowledge that I've never been taught in the 21 years ( age 4 to 25 ) that I spent as a student in the educational system.

It's amazing that the Internet, and more recently the blockchain and Steemit, as well as all the amazing groups, tribes and people that I met on there can be my teachers and students all at the same time.

Without further ado, here's my selection of three mindful posts that I would love to share with you on this mindful Monday:

Should I Meditate Every Day?

This message by @mistysummers – Love that name! – really resonates with me. I actually have been meditating daily for quite a while, trying to make it a habit, part of my morning ritual. Lately, though, I have started wondering if I was actually meditating at a time that really works for me, that I benefit from the most? Add to that, that I recently started joining group meditation sessions on discord, hosted by @bewithbreath They take place at a certain time, a couple of times a week.

No matter what's the case for you, whether you meditate daily or hardly meditate at all. Whether you're a mindfulness noob or you consider yourself a pro, the message and question in mistysummers' vlog post is worth pondering.

No Phone for a Month - Day 0 - The Origin

HeyMattSokol.png

In this mindful write up, @heymattsokol talks about something that I'm sure most of us have been considering for quite a while, especially the always 'busy', easily distracted, hypersensitive amongst us. He's talking about drastically cutting back on the use of his phone, possibly only using it for an hour, every three days or so.

I am seriously considering to do the same, in the very near future. And I'm sure it will be an instant happiness and health boost. What about you? Do you think you're up for that challenge yourself?

And last but not least, I stumbled upon this meditation post, talking about a technique that I had never heard of before:

From the top of the Nose to the Belly Button Bottom – Tuesday Morning Meditation

Here @ianperic talks about and demonstrates the so called 'Nose to the Belly Button' meditation technique. Apparently, Ian has been sharing videos on meditation on Steemit for almost a year now. So if you wanna try out some different things, you know where to go.

If you're the impatient type ( who isn't these days? ) or only have a couple of minutes to spare, start at 5min15, after the intro music.

I must admit that, while 'watching' this video, I was fascinated by Ian's bookshelf in the background, his sweater and the overall expression on his face, as well as the movements he made while meditating. It's interesting to study a mindfulness expert. In fact, it's intriguing to study a human being. I will definitely try out some of the techniques that he talks about, at a later stage.
