By now you must have heard that the US military, under Trump, has dropped a MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs), which is the largest non-nuclear bomb available besides the FOAB (Russian "Father Of All Bombs") and has only ever been used in tests, on ISIS targets in Afghanistan.
Here is drone footage of the strike:
Woah... now that's a bomb!
What are my feelings on this? Well, unlike the Syria tomahawk bombing, this action is perfectly in line with what Trump promised during his campaign -- to "wipe ISIS off the face of the earth" and "bomb the shit out of them". And, honestly, if this is a legitimate ISIS target, then I don't really have a problem with it beyond my own basic human concerns and empathy. But to act with tolerance and compassion towards psychopaths (ISIS) because of our natural empathy is a fatal flaw.
ISIS and radical Islamic terrorism in general is a plague on this planet. They are either psychopaths themselves or have been emboldened by a psychopathic ideology, and if you've looked into the psychological nature of psychopathy you understand that it's a pathology that is inherent in a small percentage of the human population and it cannot be "cured". Psychos cannot be trusted to behave in peaceful societies. They must be treated like a different species -- a predatory species.
I am much in line with Styx on the MOAB issue:
