Chevelle - The North Corridor

Chevelle's 2016 release, The North Corridor, produces their heaviest sound yet, clearly indicating that they have not lost their edge one bit.

I have been a big fan of Chevelle for over a dozen years and it is really exciting to see where this band is going. Some of this album reminds me of Tool, which is probably one of my favorite sounds of all time. However, this album is still very distinctly, Chevelle, and if you are a fan you will not be let down.

The entire album feels more angry than what we have heard from them in the past but it is still relavant as usual. There are many more distorted screams and aggressive vocals on this album with far less melodic harmonies than in previous releases. The trio follows those lead vocals perfectly throughout every track with intense drums and impressive guitar.

In my honest opinion, this is the best Chevelle album yet. I have happily welcomed it into my collection and on to my daily iPod playlist.

Bonuses for Pre-Order

Chevelle has a history of offering bonuses to those who buy pre-release. I rarely get these deals that seem to be a bonus for only the most serious of fans. However, this is a good example of how this band gives back as they are also very vocal on Facebook, often talking to fans directly in a, "Hey what are you up to this weekend?" sort of way.

According to Wikipedia, if you bought the pre-release version of The North Corridor, then you would not only get your copy of the CD signed by the band, but you would also get a downloadable copy of the bonus track titled, A Miracle. I have looked up the bonus track on Amazon and it is not available to buy there or any of my other regular sources.
