1)Cake - I will survive
One of the best takes on the Aretha classic.
2)Johnny Cash - Hurt
This is a rare gem - Johnny "covers" a nine in nails song. One of the best writers in Country music showing everyone the
reason why.
3)Crazy - Willie Nelson
A lot of people think Patsy Cline wrote this one - but its actually a Willie Nelson production. There is a lot to Willie's back catalog - but this is probably his most successful "covered" song.
4)Joe Cocker - With little help from my friends
James Taylor does a subdued version of this beatles classic. Joe Cocker made this song. It was marginal at best when the Beatles released it and he absolutely crushed it.
5)Jimi Hendrix - All along the watchtower
Besides being a very cool Bob Dylan cover - this song boasts one of the most amazing guitar solo's in history. One of the few arrangements where its hard to pick out exactly whats going on!
