Atlantis - Petroglyphs

Hello my friends at Steemit. As we investigate whether or not Atlantis was on the North and South American Continents, today we look at petroglyphs. Petroglyphs are rock carvings left by people from long ago. Suprisingly, even though many are very ancient it is obvious a hammer and chisel were used to make the relief carvings in the stone.

Source: pininterest.com This relief carving comes from the ancient Sumerian Civilization. When we get to the last picture posted you just might understand why they thought Atlantis was an advanced civilization and might agree it is on the North and South American Continents.

Carved into relief on a stone block that has weathered. This is more than a petroglyph and looks like the remnant of artwork on a building. Tools were required to make this relief in the rock and it is very intricate.

This is at Pyramid lake in Nevada, United States. Pyramid lake, like lake Tahoe in California and Crater Lake in Oregon is supposed to be bottomless. This truly looks like it is part of an ancient stone building that was destroyed.

This is more than a hundred miles from Pyramid Lake. The sculptors who carved these reliefs were either very excellent travelers in a very harsh desert or there were many sculptors. Lake Winnemuca, Nevada, these are believed to have been submerged for thousands of years in a lake that is now again dry. For thousands of years, this area has be a huge lake and dry for only short periods of time. This last time period when the lake was dry is when these reliefs were believed to have been carved.

This is a type of petroglyph that is very common where I live in Utah where the desert is also very harsh. There are thousands upon thousands of petroglyphs of this type. One of the very interesting things about the petroglyphs is that many are carved on canyon walls.

Whoever carved the petroglyphs either hung down from ropes from the top of the cliffs or the water level was high enough that they sat in a boat and carved them on the canyon walls. Maybe if the water was high enough, they carved the canyon walls while they fished from the boat to pass the time.

Found in Michigan, United States at Newport. This is from a navigational tower and this is a depiction of Mediterranean Ships or Norse Ships. Someone has evaluated the tower for measurements and it seems the tower is a map of the world. Now we start to arrive at very intricate petroglyphs in North America which require superb skill to craft.

A depiction of a man and woman fleeing the explosion of a volcano. If these reliefs do not cause your mind to question human history think of this: Mummification started here in the New World 3,000 years before it began to the east in Egypt.

This is from the great pyramids at Puma Panku, Bolivia. The stone is diorite, one of the hardest stones there is and was transported ten miles from the quarry. Carved stones weigh up to 400 tons, 800,000 pounds. All are cut with diamond or laser precision. And folks this is as good as it gets that an extremely advanced civilization was on the North and South American continents and it was destroyed. How? We get to that in posts to come
