So are you planning on joining us for Nanowrimo?
What the hell does that mean?
Well, it's short for National Novel Writing Month
National??!! What nation?
Well it started in the States, but it is worldwide now. And we here on Steemit are taking part too. So you could say its the Nation of Steemit.
Well, you could, but that would be stupid.
No need to be rude.
So what do you have to do?
You have to write 50,000 words in a month
Yes. Starting 1st November.
OK. So if I was fool enough to want to try this what do I do?
Well, this @freewritehouse post explains it all
...
#update from @felt.buzz
It is only a couple of week until the torture fun begins!
The way I am going to do it is use @mariannewest's #freewrite prompt and @mydivathings #365daysofwriting prompt to inform the 2000words I will try to write every day (the usual target is 1700 words a day, but I have a wedding to go to at the end of November so I need to get my word count up early on).
Because both of these prompts are released in the afternoon (European time anyway) I will use the prompts from the day before (so on the 1st November I will use the prompts they gave on 31st October), because I'd like to get a fair bit done in the morning!
Tomorrow I am going to have a trial run. I am going to aim to use both prompts from today and write a story of at least 2000words.
Will I fall flat on my face (in a big pile of stinking writers block)? Stay tuned to find out...
