While mega social media sites, such as Facebook, make the rules on what news you are and aren't allowed to see, Ottman has worked for years on providing an ethical alternative to share content that is free of algorithms that lead to censorship. Ottman talks about where he sees social media in the long term and the freedom open source sites like Minds.com gives people to become independent content creators.
In the second half of VIP, Lee finally addresses the controversy surrounding the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich and allegations his death stemmed from sharing info via Wikileaks. With some questionable comments from Julian Assange about Rich being a possible source and even Fox News’ retraction of Sean Hannity’s coverage, not much is verifiable about what really happened the night of July 10, 2016. Finally, Lee covers UN Ambassador Nikki Haley's dehumanizing remarks about the lives of Syrian refugees following her recent visit to refugee camps in Turkey and Jordan.
