Just learnt that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally handed a new Russian passport to Steven Seagal, an action star of the 90's, making him join a growing list of westerners who have been granted Russian citizenship.
The handing over took place in Moscow this Friday, an event which was also televised.

Mr. Putin has also said
he hoped the gesture showed a "normalisation" of strained relations with Washington.
