The Fastest Electronic Car In The World ?!

A new, Chinese Company called NextEV has just released the fastest Electric Car in the world:

The Nio EP9.

The car has just been introduced to the public yesterday, in London's Saatchi Hall!

The revolutionary EP9 comes with 4 motors and 1.360 PS.

It can go from 0 to 100km/h in 2,7 seconds and can reach top speeds of over 300km/h (186 mph)!

To prove these statistics, the company has actually done a testdrive on the legendary "Nürburgring", a car-racing ring in Germany.

And the results were very positive: it took 7:05,12 minutes, which makes it officially the fastest electronic car in the world - only a few seconds slower than the Porsche 918. The result also topped the current top speed of an electronic car , 7:22 minutes which was the result of an E-Toyota.

Specifications:

The EP9 has been built with Carbon fibers to minimize the weight, but it's still very heavy with over 1700kg (600kg for the batteries alone!).
The maximum reach of the electronic car is set for 427km, and the batteries re-charge in 45 minutes.
But you could also change the batteries in a matter of only 8 minutes, if you happen to have a fully charged one on stand-by.
The EP9 is a two-seater and 4,89m long, while only 1,15m high.

The interior features more carbon fibers, as well as 4 screens and an almost rectangular, racing-car-style steering wheel.

Although the Company NextEV is still fairly new, their products have a big potential.

It's said that an Ex-Manager from rival Tesla, as well as a designer that formerly worked at BMW is on their team.
They have already gained experience in the Formula-E, and now want to expand their work to selling commercial cars as well.

"The NIO EP9 was born to push limits and is the first stage of automotive production for NIO. It is a statement of our vision and technical and manufacturing capabilities. It showcases what is possible with electric vehicles.”

-William Li, Founder & Chairman of NextEV

What's the price point of this new, electronic super car?

That's still a secret.
All the public knows is that the production cost alone is already € 1,2 Million, and that the car is currently being hand-made in England.
The first 6 cars of the new model have already been sold to Chinese Billionaires, and the company first wants to sell their products on the Chinese market before expanding to the world.
