Nintendo had a lot of success when they launched the NES Classic mini and now they are getting ready to launch the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) Mini later this year.
The NES classic model that they released already, came with about 30 games and there continues to be high demand for the product, with many places selling out. It's estimated that it sold more than 1.5 million units as soon as it was released last year.
The new one that they are getting ready to release later this year is expected to offer more games and have better software. The price hasn't been announced yet for what the new one might cost.
It's reported that the development of the SNES is already well underway and it's expected to start selling by Christmas later this year.
Production of the NES Classic is being discontinued everywhere, although you can still find systems online which have jumped in price; some are selling for around $200 or more. Nintendo has said that they never meant for it to become a long-term operation and that they only intended to sell that NES Classic mini for a short time.
The SNES was one of the best selling consoles of all-time, said to be in the top 20.
They sold over 49 million units around the world between 1990 and 2003. Some of the most popular games that came with that system were: Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi's Island, The Legend of Zelda, Ninja Turtles, Mortal Kombat II, Tetris, and others. Super Mario Kart, and others.
