Entering Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, there are many tourists especially the westerners, but photographing is not allowed inside the shrine, so not much photo can be showed inside. Somehow we still roam around the shrine and it is quite nice experience, it liked a mixture feeling of present and the past.
The stairway are steep! I feel nervous to walk on it. Furthermore, it had No handlebars...wow!
It was almost 1pm, so it’s time for lunch. Browsed thru internet, there was someone recommended about a restaurant which located next to the shrine.
While walked in, we checked the price rather reasonable, but the most important they had free parking! What a waste that we should came here to park at the first place just now.
We entered as a big group, suddenly the small restaurant was packed with all of us, we felt pity for it. There was not many staff, most of them looked busy, so we were arranged to sit a different tables, so to ease their job, all of us ordered the same food, which also their signature dishes.
The waiter who took our order did not know much about English, then he swapped with another waitress, nice attitude and gesture, no girlish like ordinary japanese women, soon we found out she used to study abroad, no wonder she seemed kind of European style, even talk and body language was so straight forward.
Soon, our food were served, it’s Japanese cuisine with mayonnaise topping, looked like fusion with western, we all enjoyed it so delicious. This was the meal that suited my taste, not much dishes to mix here and there, simple and nice!
Not a while, we were all full. So it’s time to get on the car, just set the gps for next destination the famous buddha statue. Suddenly a lady appeared, waved at us and pointed at the poster, soon we knew that she was coming to ask for parking fees. We just handed her the food receipt as proof, she had no choice but to walk away.
Ok let’s go to the buddha statue! While departing, we headcount our group, there seemed to be less of kids, soon we noticed they were observing a public phone. What a pity, that nowadays public phone became so rare to them and I believe it should be extinct like dinosaurs soon, so I just let them explore and explain them about the public phone.
