Does Philosophy Have The Power To Undermine Your Lazy Ass Habits?

As World Philosophy Day dawns upon us soon, it reminds us all that it's for everyone.

Philosophy always start at the beginning. The only limits are those of human understanding.

Philosophy feel crazy, liberating and an intense study that forces you to check over your lazy ass habits and views. It can steal your sloppy confidence that you may hold close to your heart, and have you believing that everything you know it wrong.

To replace all this philosophy give you the innate ability to see to the bottom of everything, and to better understand the people and world around you. It eliminates lazy thinking and old assumptions.

Philosophy exposes hubris without mercy. Most people will assume that they can handle themselves in a street fight until the moment of reality comes. They don't realise that self defence is a skill to be learnt - just like philosophy. Debating and argument cannot be learnt in a university lecture theatre.

Sometimes people ask me what philosophy is by looking down on me. They also see philosophy itself as some kind of useless act. They don't realise that when they try to justify or force their opinions on others they are using philosophy.

So on November 17th on World Philosophy Day, try to remember that philosophy is for everyone.

If you wish to introduce someone to the king of sciences I can recommend Alain De Botton's 'The Consolations of Philosophy' as a starter.

Philosophy isn't for just stuffy old Professors in warm lecture theatres. If you want a reason to read De Botton's book, then know that after reading it you'll never lose another argument with your mother again. And they keep saying it isn't a practical skill ....
