Now time for the final part of the Gili story!

The island doesn’t have any motorised transport partly because it’s far to small and the terrain would not withstand the constant weight and traffic of let’s say a car... Instead to get around the island it’s either by foot, a horse and cart or by bicycle.

We chose to ride around on bicycles this was easy as almost everywhere had bikes for hire and it was a lot of fun. We rode around like we had as young kids laughing, talking and stopping as we pleased.

If the thought of exercise doesn’t appeal to you the horse and carts are an experience in themselves the buggies are painted in bright colours and the horses are adorned in colour and bells that make a beautiful sound.
