In Ukraine, a 'verba' can rightfully be called a Ukrainian tree-totem, from which, as believed in the old days, people are born. It is a symbol of vitality, rapid growth, fertility: from a twig, without a root, on any soil, 'verba' grows. And most importantly, it is a symbol of Ukraine.
