Damselflies in and around the peat bog
Here are a few photos of damselflies that live in the peat bog near my home town in The Netherlands. The variety of species is huge, and I haven't got photos of all species yet, these are just a few of them:
A large red damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula) and its shadow:
A common blue damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum):
A banded demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens), male:
And a female of the same species:
The azure damselfly (Coenagrion puella):
A willow emerald damselfly (Chalcolestes viridis):
Another one of the Lestidae:
And yet another one of the Lestidae, having a closer look at me:
This is a white-legged damselfly (Platycnemis pennipes):
A female blue-tailed damselfly (Ischnura elegans):
A brown variety of the above:
And the male of the species:
And on, and on. This should do, as you are probably bored by now 8-).
