At least, they were new to me, I knew of their existence but I hadn't seen them before. I found both of them yesterday in the Haaksbergerveen and the connected Armenveen, two peat bogs near Haaksbergen and Buurse, The Netherlands:
The downy emerald (Cordulia aenea):
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f8, 1/125s
The same one from the side:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO125, f8, 1/160s
The ruby whiteface (Leucorrhinia rubicunda)
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/125s
A portrait shot of the same one:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/125s
The second one was sitting on a small stick I was holding, so it was easy to get shots from different angles 8-).
