For our backpacking trip to the Wind River Range in Wyoming we used pack llamas. My eldest brother Verl, raises pack llamas to take with him hunting.
They were so cute and here are fun pictures I got of them during the 6 days. They weigh around 300 pounds. Which is pretty big, until you see pack horses on the trail and they weigh around 1500 pounds!

Introductions
In my second post of the trip I introduced the llamas, I will do that again here. There were 5 llamas with us, Aspen, Pasha, Sal, Zorro, and Oreo
This is Aspen, was the matriarch of the group. She was the steading influence.
Pasha is Aspen's baby. It was Pashas first time on the trail.
Sal | Zorro | |

Oreo giving Scotty a kiss. Oreo was the friendliest of all.

Aspen
Aspen was the oldest of the group and knows how to pack. She often let us on the trail and Cat and her spent a lot of time together. Aspen is also Pasha's mother.

Pasha
Pasha is very young and this was his first time on the trail. He was funny and liked to walk next to the trail instead of on the trail. Also you will see he had a great time in the mud at the beginning of the trip.

Zorro
Zorro didn't like to be touched. He was named for the back mask-like marking on his face.
Oreo
Oreo was so friendly. He liked to say hello and "kiss" you in greeting. I have mixed feelings about Oreo as he was so friendly, yet he was young and inexperienced and that combined with my inexperience on the trail led to him pushing me off the trail. I got a very bad sprained ankle.
Sal
Sal was the easiest to distinguish, as he was the only all brown llama. He was older and had been on the trail before. He was calm and friendly.

On the Trail
There you have a fun introduction to the 5 pack llamas we took with us on our backpacking trip to Wyoming. Would I go with pack llamas again? I don't know. I think for my next trip I would like to go without and then I can see which I like better.
