Monochrome Series: North-Coast of the Scottish Highlands II

As a follow-up on my earlier post of monochrome shots of the coast of the Scottish Highlands, I post two more that could easily hang together on a wall. There were taken at the same beach I posted the cow story about, and after this post I still have pictures to share from that day. Some days are just more photogenic than others.

How light influences pictures

There was something in the light that day that made this day particularly interesting. As a photographer I take these days as real presents. Especially in Scotland I have noticed the difference light can make. (Or am I mistaken and is it actually the fact light in combination with rain creates interesting reflections?)

In some places we drove the roads multiple times. We would drive the same road at night, in the morning, and some random afternoon hour. Spectacular sights would unfold, and some of these sights in Scotland are signed as 'viewpoints' alongside the road.

Some of the viewpoints we visited two or three times. Every time the lookout would present with a totally different picture. Just because of the light! I can't even imagine the influence changing seasons have on these viewpoints. They might get unrecognizable.

If I lived near a beach like this I would come back at a certain time on certain days, just to make a series that would show the extreme changes in light I've only ever seen in Scotland.
