I prefer candlelight

Last night I went to plug in one of our antique lamps and got a nasty shock. Apparently I got hit with at most 120 volts of electricity. Do I know this for a fact? No, but I have little blisters that instantly formed from contact on my thumb, pointer and middle finger. I also caused the entire upstairs floor to short circuit.

I was hit with confusion and disbelief moments after my accident had occurred. I safely made my way downstairs, told @kommienezuspadt that I got shocked and then went to put my hand under running cold water. He didn’t fully understand the situation until he found me sitting on the floor. My fingertips were a little swollen and were covered in scorch marks from the socket. I went to bed feeling a little off, hand resting on top of an icepack.

Today I was feeling a bit irritable. I have feeling in my fingertips but my nerves feel sensitive. I’m thankful that it wasn’t my dominate hand. It also feels slightly numb/tingly from my hands to my forearm. I’ve been behaving rather impatiently. I want this feeling to go away soon because it’s distracting. I wasn’t able to remove the cap from my lipstick today because I couldn’t get my grip right, also typing is really difficult. With both hands going, I can tell that my timing is slightly off.

From now on, I guess I’ll have to light the entire house with oil lamps and candles.

Thanks for reading. 🦊
