More pictures from our foray about a month ago. These were at the end of Hat 6 Road east of Casper.
According to my husband, this hill is called Black Hill. Over the ages it has changed names according to what was acceptable at the time. At one time, it was called Nigger Hill. It evolved to Negro Hill and is now called simply Black Hill.
Unfortunately, we couldn't go any further as it is now fenced off. It didn't use to be, according to my husband.
I turned around and took more pictures of these interesting rock formations. This kind of formation is quite common, though each one is unique and interesting in its own way.
We weren't the only ones to find interest in these rocks. They turn out to be a great lookout for the local mule deer.
I was also testing my new zoom lens - I think it did okay. (At least well enough to identify the species of deer.)
