Tell me which is one, witches three
what's a 'Coven' or a 'Witchery'
chosen not so randomly
as current theme of Steemit poetry?

First comes an image of boons and spells
drifting through misty woodland dells
where the mystic song of nature swells
into that silent note, where magic dwells.

Then, not quite an after-thought
comes a vision of havoc wrought;
of ropes, fire and water, scapegoats sought -
power games, where no magic was ever caught.
