You left a sudden vacuum,
Impossible to fill.
My tears are simply not up to the task.
Though I might sit for hours
Composing with this quill,
My pain's too great for words to ever mask.
Why couldn't we have talked more?
Why did you leave so soon?
Our list of undone projects is too long.
You should have stuck with Cruzan time:
"Hey, mon, wha' wrang to you?
Mehson, you know 'tiz h'yah weh yoh belong!"
You were the best of cousins,
A friend and mentor too.
I'll treasure every minute that we spent
Creating new technologies;
The world is better now,
Because of goods you saw fit to invent.
Though for a time we're out of touch,
You're never out of mind;
I picture you on Heaven's nearer shore...
Give my regards to Gram and Gramps!
My Mom, and sister too,
Your Dad, and... Oh, I'm sure there's several more...
But don't get too wrapped up—
just yet—
In bright festivities.
There's still a lot of work we've left to do;
Filling and subduing the New Heavens and New Earth;
Hej! Partner! I still plan to work with you!
We'll roam the stars together—
Space Hogs don't stand a chance!
Adventures, far and wide, around the bend...
We'll conquer endless projects
And we'll dance away the nights,
All thanks to Jesus/God, our finest friend.
