This week I went digging in the crates for a poem written back in my twenties. Looking back on it now - I wonder whether society has progressed or regressed in regard to the theme.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the poem!
Creative Flames
So much deceit so many lies
No trust, no integrity, somebody tell me why
Women cheating on their spouse
What in the hell is that all about
Some compassion, some class
Instead of meeting strangers and having one night stands
Everybody's frontin' like they are so tough
But how many people are strong enough
To show their true self and not worry about everyone else
To actually care, to only commit when they really mean it
To give their word with true passionate feeling
Not many, so the few gather round
It's a small group but together they are bound
By an underling decentness that we carry inside
One day in someone else, this you will find
Regards,
Mitchell J
