Traveler´s Soul
A traveler chases
the whole
World´s places
to settle his soul.
He takes pride
in discovering the wide
lands he´s never been before
but wants to know even more.
It´s a deep desire
almost a curse
to conquer the entire
universe.
Every step
sailing across the main
is a furtunate gain
on his map.
On the way he comes to know
new people who will show
him that the world is more
than his little horizon of yore.
He´s still in the mood
for new cultures and food
aiming to find
his own open mind.
Nothing ever goes away
before teaching us
thus
why not to stay
and come back again
to find ourselves then.
There´s no second chance
in life
to strive
for the last dance.
So that´s the role
of a traveler´s soul.
I am currently planning a trip to the US for next summer which actually inspired me to write this poem. I wanna discover New York City (I still haven´t ever been there can you imagine!) and Las Vegas (the last time I got there I was 5 years old so I don´t remember well). Just thinking about it makes me very excited! I will meet my best friend in Vegas. He is living in the US so will come over from his place while I will cross the Atlantic Ocean once again. We came to know each other in University where we both (nerds :-)) studied Computer Science about 15 years ago. The last time we met was in Miami Beach in 2012, what a blast! We need to repeat that. Now you´ll understand pretty well that I have A LOT of excellent reasons to do that trip ;-)
