Pearlescent Poems # 20: Rooftop Robbers (Original Poem)

Day or night, they hope you're sleeping, creeping all in black

Equipped with knives and stealth disguise, for prize and loot they jack

A laser pen, scoped silencer gun with two sets of full cartridges
Wire cutters, night vision goggles, slack rope and harnesses

They arrive with gear, 'round corners they steer and park their van behind
They never speak, their only speech, is that of pantomime

Middle class to upper class are their areas of expertise

Signal bouncers and static downers are how they perplex police

Surveillance cams and guard dogs are the easiest to avoid

When grapple hooks and steak they've cooked are ready and deployed

If someone's home, rooftops they'll roam, and leave your windows bent

They'll use gas masks and spill a flask of chlorophyll through the vents

Assassin steps, your drawers swept, you might not hear a sound

Your jewelry box, hidden safes unlocked, and valuables underground

Wallets, keys, antiquities, passports and cars they've taken

No trace or marks, whey they depart, it's all gone when you've awakened

Thanks for reading this poem in its entirety, I hope you enjoyed this for what it is, make sure to stay safe and be vigilant in this world filled with greed.
