📰AC Milan legend George Weah elected new Liberia president

George Weah former Fifa Balloon d'Or winner won Liberia's election as their new president.

The three times African football player of the year succeeded Ellen Johnson Sirleaf by winning 73 years old Joseph Boakai to be elected as the 25th president of the country.

George Weah former AC Milan legend took over the first round by storm but did not failed to meet the necessary requirements needed to enclose the election.

The unity party candidate Joseph Boakai was defeated by Weah by winning 12 of the 15 counties in the west African country.

He easily won a seat with the senate's in 2014 when he ran for vice president in 2011 beating the son of President Sirleaf, Robert, by acquiring 78 percent of the votes at the capital of Montserrado.
