Why are young people castigating fellow young men and women aspiring for political leadership. Do they want the status quo maintained? If so, why do they complain about the leadership style of the old brigade in Africa and mostly Nigeria?
If you're not qualified or courageous enough to aspire, it is not an issue, those that feel and believe that they are good enough to handle the pressures that come with leadership should be left alone to pursue their dreams if you can't even encourage them.
Of course, a lot of mediocre aspirants are springing up here and there as "young and vibrant alternatives". We can clearly see, from the way they're parading themselves, that they have almost nothing to offer in leadership. Many are seeking cheap popularity, and others are agents of the old brigade working at destabilizing genuine, young and capable aspirants. It is NO PROBLEM at all. This is democracy. Everybody has equal rights to vie for whichever position they deem fit for them.
If they're not qualified or unserious, wait till election day and deny them your vote. It is sickening and see how fellow young guns come on social media to berate and talk others down just because they are interested in a political position. Allow the "fake" to make fool of themselves and do your best to encourage/support those you think are genuine.
People are tired of remaining victims of the old brigade, who want to be slavemasters for life.
Encourage young people everywhere to take up the challenge of leadership and run for offices. It is your welfare and that of your children (born and unborn) that is at stake.
You can't deny the fact that the category of politicians who have bestrode the political system for so long have totally messed up everything and need to give way for the younger generation to take their destiny into their own hands NOW. How long are we going to sit back and watch them take decisions that'll continually relegate us to the background for the rest of your youthful age?
The time to act is now, the time for us to stand by each other as youths with a common goal of changing the status quo is now. The future of our born and unborn children are at stake. Let us stop the social media criticism of our aspiring youths, if we really want to see the developmental strides we so desire in our societies then we need to stand TOGETHER! In one VOICE
