For majority of my monochrome creative conversions i use Black and White layer in Photoshop. The thing that i find appealing is that you can work with the skin tones and final looks flexibly by adjusting red and yellow sliders to your liking.
Even though the model is purely Caucasian one might get the impression that she is Black, African American or a very suntanned Hispanic :)
Whether this conversion is to your liking is for you to judge i wanted to make it especially apparent for demonstration purposes. Just next time you make a BW conversion in Photoshop give it a try and share your results with the community.
