Little Gypsies

Few years ago we visited a Gypsy village called Dedin, close to Delnice, in the region of Gorski kotar, Croatia. It was, allegedly, a place without electricity or running water, with a very low living standard. The winter was coming so we collected used clothes & children toys, oil & flour, sugar & salt, coffee, chocolate & candies...& gave it all as aid to the settlers there. I used the chance to shoot a bit cause it was a unique sight & children, in all that misery, were still happy & playing around. They were even happier when they saw the toys, candies & chocolate. Nevertheless, on this shot, the boy is pretty serious & his little sister is completely occupied with candies. I guess, this boy is already much more grown up than the most of the children of his age...
