Portrait of an Engineer from the 1800s
This is my entry for the @portraitcontest Week 34 where the theme is Fun.
The past few days, I have been outside of Atlanta, Georgia, watching a Civil War reenactment of the Battle of Resaca. During the reenactment I met some very interesting people that were taking their roles as characters pretty seriously.
This man explained to me that he was an engineer that played a crucial role in several battles to construct bridges that helped his unit gain victory. As I was talking with him, he never broke character except to tell me that he has been a Civil War campaigner for almost 40 years. He had an amazing collection of relics that he has brought with him for this battle.
