Whats the deal with Centrelink ? (For non-aussies)
Centrelink is Australia's central government department for distributing/organising welfare payments. Millions of Australian's have no choice but to interface with this agency/department via under-trained staff and/or a computer system that has been broken for YEARS and its generally a massive pain in the ass every single time.

Now, after years of cutting corners, staff and resources they've now started sending out debt notices in huge numbers to mostly unemployed Australians that DO NOT OWE A THING.
Rather then admit any mistakes or issues with their system, representatives have taken to lying about the state of affairs (as they have for at least a decade) . I heard a rep quote just last week claiming "go into an office, you'll be sorted out in 10 minutes" which is a complete fantasy.

My local office at peak efficiency during the floods [More about the floods]
The last time I had to go to my local centrelink office years ago (above) I had to line up for 30 minutes to be told to sit and wait for 2 and a half HOURS before I could BEGIN to explain why I was even there. And the phone lines give busy signals to most callers, the ones that get through get to sit on hold for hours longer and often get hung up on as well.

This is obviously completely unacceptable, but this is where we're at.
TheJuiceMedia nailed this video.
