💕 One of the best photos of my beautiful daughter so far [+school award] 💕

Those who have been reading my ramblings for a while will know I have two non-verbal autistic kids..
Both of them stim constantly, rarely sit still and its nearly impossible to get a clear photo of them at the best of times.

We tried to get some shots on their first day back at school, but most are motion blurred and my phone camera sucks ..

Their special school managed to get one of my favourite photos of Katana yet, that really captures her "smiley eyes" in a rare completely focussed moment and I had to share.

She was also given an award on her first week back at school for doing so well with her transitions both back into school , and between activities/rooms.
This may seem like a strange thing to celebrate to some, but it's a massive deal to us.

It's hard to convey just how difficult it can be to manage these two, especially when establishing a new routine in a new environment. Everything must be micro-managed smoothly or we're on the path to an epic meltdown that will disrupt her whole day. Not just a tantrum, but a complete mental breakdown that can end in her being physically sick she's that upset.

So when things go well - we really try to celebrate the small victories.

I doubt many people are going to care about this, but I do - and since steemit is now my main social network I'll want to share these moments too. It can't all be massive rants, politics and pizza ;)

Give me this day, my daily shitpost..

PS - I haven't pushed changes live yet, but I've been working on a more efficient, better version of steemviz for a few days now. I've rebuilt it with 90% of the functionality so far, at about 25% of the code size, less dependencies and no more random disconnections. I haven't forgotten. Patience grasshopper
