Did you know that the USA (and many others) have been using subliminal messaging in their media to manipulate their citizens for decades ?
Over time, the techniques being used have been refined and made more subtle and now this art has been absorbed into the general advertising industry to sell you crap on the daily.
It wasn't always that way - instead of selling specific crap they used to do a lot more general messaging.
Messages like "WORSHIP CONSUME BELIEVE OBEY" and many others have been discovered inside clips like this this station sign-off from the 1960's :
The technique used is interesting, but hard to screenshot effectively. As each letter of the overt/top level message is faded in/out they are replaced for a split second with different letters of the subliminal message giving a rolling effect left to right so only 1 or 2 letters of the message are visible at any moment.
Here are all the subliminals that were embedded in this anthem clip - with overt message in italics, and subliminal messages in bold .

I find their choices of message fascinating.
"God is real, god is watching, believe in government god"
Literally merging the idea of government and god into the one entity, whilst showing a church.
"BUY ULTRA BUY NAOMI"
Some commenters have claimed these are references to the MKULTRA (mind-control) and MKNAOMI (biowarfare) projects that were very active at that time.
It's so close to the subliminals in the classic movie "They live" I figured it was probably inspired by it, so I had a dig around..
Turns out the movie was inspired by a short story called "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" by Ray Nelson, that was published only 3 years after this clip began airing.
Interesting coincidences ;)
Before anyone claims that this is a hoax, you should read vigilant citizens breakdown of the hoax claims.
There is still not enough data to prove that the video is authentic, but there is also not enough data to prove that it is a hoax.
Like many areas of "conspiracy" research, we start hitting the limits of what's publicly available to verify. Whoever the uploader was, they seemed to have access to an original reel film that wasn't made available anywhere else.
The manic, aggressive manner in which certain groups claim that this is a hoax (without evidence) just convinces me further that this is legit. What do you think ?
