The official wikileaks twitter account has begun posting a series of strange tweets referencing #Vault7 . Lots of theories are floating around, but no answers yet.

Here are the tweets so far, with more information on what is pictured in each one.
I'll summarize and include some of the more interesting theories at the end.

This image is of Svalbard Global Seed Vault located on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen near Longyearbyen in the remote Arctic Svalbard archipelago.

This is a massive doomsday vault, packed with heirloom seed variety's sent from all over the globe.

According to building plans, available images and all descriptions I've been able to find, however - there are only 3 vaults inside.

This image is of a Pratt & Whitney F119 afterburning turbofan engine developed by Pratt & Whitney for the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor advanced tactical fighter.

This specific photograph can be traced to the Joint Base Langley-Eustis website , where it has this caption :

These images, depicting Bradley Manning, Julian Assange and Edward Snowden are part of the “Espionage Series”were created by the US Defense Security Service back in 2014. The images were once available on the "Center for Development of Security Excellence" website, but have since been removed.

Their previous existence on the official govt can be verified using this internet archive snapshot from 2014 .

This picture was taken at Whiteman Airforce base in Missouri , its listed on whiteman.af.mil with the following caption :

This base hosts the 509th Bomb Wing used in the Shock and Awe (Shekinah) campaign in Iraq according to wikipedia .

Now this might just be another coincidence however exactly 30 minutes before the first "Vault 7" tweet, they tweeted this :

Note this is file 6 from vault.fbi.gov , which they then followed with references to vault 7 ..

Wikileaks also tweeted a youtube video of "11 interesting wikileaks publications", with a video thumbnail from 9/11 .

It's too early to say what they're referring to for sure, but among all of the theories floating around at this stage I think it's referring to another possible release related to the Clinton FBI investigation.

Update: After seeing the WHO tweet I think they may be implying that Clinton sold national secrets (acted as a spy).

Lets look back over the questions asked, and clues given so far

WHAT is Vault 7
It's a massive subterranean vault , possibly holding seeds / genetic materials .

WHERE is Vault 7
The photo was of a Salt Mine re-purposed by Nazi's into a gold vault in Merkers, Germany

WHEN is Vault 7
The photo was taken on April 9th 2010 , but the engine model number could be a 9/11 reference.

WHO is Vault 7
These images are all of people deemed threats to the security of the US government (by the US government). Bradley Manning (Now Chelsea Manning), Julian Assange and Edward Snowden .

WHY is Vault 7
Why did they bomb Iraq ? Why is he making a snow plow ? The photo was pointing out they do these jobs internally "to save the Air Force from having to possibly spend money on parts made by civilian companies".. This one is tricky.

I feel like this tweet series hasn't finished yet, and they're either hyping people up for a new release or sending an abstract threat to release information, possibly to the FBI given the timing of the tweets.

They seem to be running through the "5 W's" - What Who Where When Why - so now we're just waiting on the "Why" .

I really hope the rumours are true, and that we're on the verge of major disclosure - but for now I'm just waiting for more information and trying not to get my hopes up :P
