I made this little oil rig last night with a color that I have not used before. This color is called Alaskan Thunder (similar to the cannabis strain, Alaskan Thunderfuck). It is mostly just a dark blue color, but it is made with some kind of heavy metal that off gases durring the melting process causing some cool fumey effects in spots where it got hotter.
Also for anybody in the midwest that is interested in glass, or just want to meet some cool people and get high, The Michigan Glass Project is happening in Detroit, Michigan on July 20th-22nd and is always a great time. This event features musical performances, food vendors, a beer vendor (usually a local craft brewery), graffiti artists, and most of all glass artists. There will be live glassblowing demos all 3 days from dozens of artists from all over the country that are well known in this community. This is also a charity event, so all of the art made durring these 3 days, as well as a bunch that artists donate beforehand, get auctioned off at the end, and the money is donated to a local charity that is helping bring art back into detroit schools that havent had the budget to have such programs.
