alternatetext

The film Mercury Rising is about an autistic boy named Simon Lynch (Miko Hughes) who cracks a top-secret government code called Mercury. The code is so sophisticated that it is believed to be unbreakable, and its existence is known only to a select few within the National Security Agency (NSA).

When Simon cracks the code, he becomes a target for assassination by rogue elements within the NSA who fear that his knowledge of the code could compromise national security. FBI agent Art Jeffries (Bruce Willis) is tasked with protecting Simon, but he soon finds himself caught up in a web of conspiracy and deceit.

As Jeffries and Simon go on the run, they must unravel the truth behind the Mercury code and expose the corruption within the NSA. Along the way, they form a strong bond, and Jeffries comes to see Simon as more than just a kid he's assigned to protect.

Mercury Rising is a suspenseful action thriller with a strong emotional core. It explores the themes of trust, loyalty, and the importance of protecting those who are different. The film was released in 1998 and received mixed reviews from critics, but it has since become a cult classic among fans of action films and thrillers.
